Adventures in the Lord

My dad was asked to play piano at the opening night of the Cal Baptist leadership conference in Carlsbad (Northern San Diego county). It was a "black and white attire" meeting, so I got to get all dressed up! Then we jumped in the car and headed to the Four Seasons there in Carlsbad. It was fun to have a little road trip, to talk with my dad and catch up, plus play the Radio Game where you see who can guess the name and artist of the song playing on the radio. The hotel was really beautiful. The dinner was beautiful! It was such a dressy dinner I thought it a bit tacky to pull out my camera and take pictures of each plate...but you knew it came to my mind! :D Okay - I had to put this one in for Nick. All around the hotel they had these statues, the ones that look like real people. They actually scare me a bit and really creep Nick out :D haha! So this is me laughing inside, thinking of him.

Here are some pictures from this past Friday and Saturday. Friday night dinner with the grandparents. This evening was a treat because Nick and Meehan both called us within minutes of each other! It was so wonderful hearing those familiar voices.  Then on Saturday afternoon I was BLESSED to attend the wedding of Ryan and Zoe Hillner. (look at that oak tree - isn't that incredible?) Saw so many wonderful friends, including Sean and Dana Juaquin pictured here :) They had white market umbrellas with sweet cupcakes on every table, fruit and cheese platers and a smooth bar! Then Saturday evening I really was craving grilled veggies and chicken, so Dale lovingly grilled for us! This picture is of me, Katie, and Julia buttering the bread...lots of butter!

This post is for my husband :) I am sorry I did not update the blog with pictures since I have been here! I have not taken very many so I had to get some from your mom. Here are a couple from the last couples days. at the airport getting pedicures (that's shelly and taylor) (that's shelly and baby gibbons) Chris and Lisa are entering a burger recipe contest. They had two different recipes to try so your grandparents and parents made the burgers to make sure we all approved. This is your grandma explaining what was in the different burgers. This is the living room with the new white couches. Looks awesome (and they are pretty cozy). That is all for now I will Really try to take more pictures!! I keep forgetting to. We all miss you babe.

Hi all, Sorry I have not been blogging details. Life for the last week or two has been good . Really can see the Lord moving in women here! And He is building up marriages on the Jarvis! wives who are here and husbands who are gone, it is really a miracle that the Lord can use separation for good! I am very excited to get to fellowship with family and friends in the coming weeks on my four week trip to the mainland. His timing is so good, His ways are higher than our ways. Just that childlike trust that Dad is going to take care of everything - His track record is perfect and He is not going to leave me alone and despairing. So amazing, the conquering King Father, Jesus the Redeemer and Holy Spirit the Comforter. Thank you Lord!! I pray that He is all three of those things for you this very day! (He IS those things, but I pray you know and experience those characteristics for yourself, in your life) :D I am incredibly blessed to have you all!

Today is my last Saturday in Oahu before my little trip back to the mainland...so much beach to see and so little time!! :D Trying to do last minute things around the house so that it is well put together and ready when I come back. Have a Stupendous Saturday!

I am sitting at the Beach House Cafe, this cute little coffee shop that sits across the street from the beach at our place. I was very excited to walk over there and work today because our house is getting sprayed for ants! I must say, since Nick has been gone, I have had my share of "friends" in the house to keep me company :/   A 6 inch long centipede is the newest addition to the family, not forgetting the usual geckos, roaches, and ants. BUT! No worries, that is the island life! I am just very excited to see some of my little ant friends go... I came and grabbed an iced hazelnut latte at this cafe and sat at a table with my laptop...then started listening to the radio playing in the background...Christian radio station! :D isn't that cool! It really makes this place so peaceful and enjoyable to hear praise to God in the background.  So I want to start coming here every once in a while to mix up with working from home.  That was all, just wanted to share that :) I am s...
