Gotta Pump up the Jam

Image
I have quite a few projects around the house that I need to start. Nest Spring Cleaning. I have been thinking about them, planning them out in my mind, making checklist after checklist of what I need in preparation...Well, I have realized I can plan for weeks and never start them! Today is my day to start. Gotta pump up the jam. I get way more done when I blast fun tunes to keep me moving.  First project : Clear off the kitchen table.

14 minutes

Earlier today it had been 14 days since I had heard the voice of my salty sailor. Today radio silence was broken. Total and utter joy. I love how our emotions, memories are linked to sounds. I got to talk to him for 14 lovely minutes before he had to jump off. It was worth waiting for! I love his voice :) "Not much to report" he says. He and a bunch of buddies were renting a car to journey around their undisclosed location.  I love it. I can just see them doing it. I started playing a mix that nick made before he left and it brought a smile to my face imaging them listening to the same tunes as they drive, searching for surf and adventure. I am so grateful for the people the Lord has put around us during these times. I have some dear, dear friends around me here. We sure are getting good at joining together during these times, no matter what the circumstances. After talking with Nick, I had another fun little occurrence. My mom came to visit me!  8 days to relax, sit by the beach, exercise and cook food together. We made it to all four corners of the island; hiked, swam, beached, read books, laughed, massages, the works! Here are a few photos of our adventures. first day: Lani Kai (east)  day two: Kaena Point (west) day three: Hike Lani Kai (east) {I wish I could take you all here - one of my favorite hikes} day four: hike diamond head (south) day six: Royal Hawaiian (south) day seven: Waimea and Pipeline (north) She leaves early tomorrow morning to head back to Missouri. yuck. I don't like goodbyes very much.  Thank you Jesus for every moment we had together! You were here with us and we are so grateful. -Becky

One More Time

This is a week of preparation... Preparation for another patrol... preparation for the last one. and I release a big sigh as I type "last one". At this point, it only brings me minimal comfort, he still will leave and he will be gone for a while, but knowing there is an end to this is pretty exciting. I am curious, as always, to see what the Lord has in store for me this time. Today I was reminded of the prayer that is necessary - for that ship and every life connected to it for the next few months. Yup, the Lord has a lot He wants to do on that ship!! Join me, as you always do. Lord give us increased, incredible, child-like faith. Hope to post more in the weeks to come.
