Our pastor from home and his family have been through one of the worst weeks in their lives. They found out their 5 year old baby girl Daisy Love had a large cancerous tumor. This is the sermon that was preached 6 days after the news, Sunday Sept 27th. This is a powerful sermon and I ask that you would please set aside 40 minutes to listen to it. What would be your initial reaction to learning that you will be having 11 junior high kids and 2 adults staying at your house tomorrow night? :) So - Here is my story. Tuesday this week I found out that I would have Thursday off work. The marketing department was going on their annual “outing” and no one would be working that day. I got very excited to have a day off and decided to not make any plans so I could have a day of rest and relaxation J A little backround that helps to make this story great – Sean and Jill Murphy, a very close friends of Nick’s (and now mine!) live with their family in Kona. They help teach in a co-op school (sort of like homeschool, but different parents teach different subjects) with about 11 – 15 other junior high kids. He called me in August saying that the kids and 2 adults would be traveling to Oahu to study up on Hawaiian history and culture. Hi All! I had a fun Saturday and I wanted to share. This morning I went to a Coast Guard Spouse Association Tea; a bunch of Coast Guard wives get-together. It was at the home of the District 14's Admiral! (District 14 is all Coast Guard stations in the Hawaiian island and Guam) I learned that each CG Admiral lives in this same house - when their billet is up, the next Admiral moves in. The best part...they live with the Diamond Head Light house in their backyard! It was so beautiful! I will let the pictures tell the rest. hehe - here is me in the car on the way there! This is Admiral Brown talking with all of us. He talked about what an integral part the wives are to those serving out at sea - It was nice to hear from him. What a way to break the ice, meet new friends and grow with old ones. If you have never been line-dancing before, you need to plan to go and go with Taylor!
