Why heartbreaks?
When I started writing this post, I kept wanting to preface with what the Lord is doing and teach me. But I deleted all that and decided I would just put it out there for you to read without any background or fluff :) The Word of God is not fluffy or "feel good". It is the Word of God.
I read My Utmost for His Highest yesterday, November 1st. Here is the profound words I found myself reading, internalizing:
Why shouldn't we go through heartbreaks? Through those doorways God is opening up ways of fellowship with His Son. Most of us fall and collapse at the first grip of pain; we sit down on the threshold of God's purpose and die away of self-pity, and all so-called Christian sympathy will aid us to our death bed. But God will not. He comes with the grip of the pierced hand of His Son, and says - "Enter into fellowship with Me; arise and shine." If through a broken heart God can bring His purposes to pass in the world, then thank Him for breaking your heart.

ReplyDelete"It was good for me that I was afflicted...." The Word is full of scriptures indicating that the nearness of God is directly related to suffering. I can testify to the fact that the toughest times of my life have brought about the closest times of intimacy with God. I KNOW in whom I believe!!
