Triumphant Patience
It is a calm morning with clouds in the sky and a light rain falling on the plumeria outside my window...it is a Glorious Day.
I cannot believe I am writing another post on the dawn of the Jarvis pulling in to Honolulu!
In honest truth, I cannot believe we survived another patrol. Yesterday driving to church I was just overcome with gratitude that the Lord would carry me through another patrol with such grace and joy. I hear people say often "Becky, I don't know how you do it?" or "You must be so strong" (HA! I laugh at that one). I do not have an eloquent answer, but the answer is Jesus. and I am not trying to have made up/false humility here. I am just telling you it is impossible to do patrols like this triumphantly, victoriously and with joy without Jesus. Absolutely Impossible. I see people try and all else fails.
"Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distresses..." Psalm 107. Even if He does not end the pain sooner, or ever bring Nick back early, He is with you us the Storm, so near!
"The Lord is my ROCK my FORTRESS and my DELIVERER, My God, my Rock in whom I take REFUGE". Psalm 18. I literally take refuge in Him daily with my emotions, my heart and my mind.
As I learn all the lessons God has for me I realize that Triumph comes with Patience. They seem like complete opposites, but I can tell you confidently now (having done 4 of these I think!) that Triumph only comes when Patience is fully realized...
So today I just give GLORY TO GOD with all my heart!!! TRUST HIM!!! He is FAITHFUL to His Promises and I love Him for that! I wish I had time to sit with each one of you and tell you all the Lord has been teaching us through this...It's all for Him really.
